Cookie Policy

How this website uses cookies

Last updated October 2026.

What cookies are

Cookies are small bits of text that are downloaded to your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Your browser sends these cookies back to the website every time you visit the site again, so it can recognise you.

The short version

This website does not set any cookies. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. We don’t record how you move around the site, and we don’t build up a profile of you.

The contact form

When you send a message using the contact form, the details you enter (your name, email address, telephone number if given, and your message) are emailed to Shirley so she can reply. They are not used for anything else. The form does not use cookies.

Outside services this website uses

Google Fonts

The lettering on this website is loaded from Google Fonts. Google Fonts does not set cookies, but your browser does send your IP address to Google so the fonts can be delivered. See Google’s Google Fonts privacy FAQ.

Remembering this notice

When you close the cookie notice, a small note is saved in your browser (in “local storage”, which works like a cookie) so the notice doesn’t keep appearing. It contains nothing about you and is never sent to us.

Links to other websites

Our website contains links to other websites, such as Brewin Books, Amazon, Apple Books and Kobo. Those websites may place their own cookies on your device when you visit them. We have no control over third-party cookies, so please check their own cookie policies.

How to control or delete cookies

You can restrict, block or delete cookies set by this or any other website through your browser’s settings. The Information Commissioner’s Office explains how on its cookies guidance page. For a mobile phone or tablet, look in your browser’s settings or your device’s manual.

Questions

If you have any questions about this policy, please contact Shirley or telephone 0121 704 2520 or 07394 036595.
